Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the entry and supplies its results. Douglas County Court Docket does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you send an email, the message may be retained long enough to respond and manage the communication. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.

Web servers and analytics tools may receive routine technical details when a page loads:

No Court-Record Data on File
Douglas County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of Douglas County case records. It publishes general directions to WCCA, Douglas County Circuit Court, and Clerk of Courts request channels. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report about any person.
Official Wisconsin court files may protect personal identifiers under Wis. Stat. § 801.19, confidential information under § 801.20, and sealed or redacted material under § 801.21. Those rules govern the court's records, not data stored here.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate any search boxes displayed on the site. A query submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy. The provider controls its retention, use, prices, and disclosures, so review its policy before entering information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Douglas County Clerk of Courts, Wisconsin courts, WCCA, public agencies, legal resources, or outside search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's rules govern. Advertising providers may also use their systems to measure activity across websites.

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- A search partner that receives a query you submit
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that deliver ads
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal requirement
